My BOOK

Anchor 1

We want to trust God. We want to have confidence in Him. But when we’re distracted by the whirl of our life and obligations, it challenges our faith before we realize it, and we’re scrambling for our true North. This is the time when you need a reset. A Spiritual Reset! Just as the North Star offered sailors a fixed point to determine their position and course, Jesus Christ should be “True North” for Christians in this standardless world.

A spiritual reset is needed when we realize we have reached such a pivot point. Well into my ministry calling, I inadvertently found a critical moment for my spiritual reset. It was when God chose to reboot my soul, renew my vision, and refocus my devotion. And to my surprise, it became more than a one-off experience – it became the spiritual discipline of my life. And, as you will soon discover, it became the seedbed from which an initial volume of devotions blossomed.

The cost of setting sail into day-to-day living with a skewed compass is incalculable. A sailor’s compass is often regarded as a failsafe piece of his kit. However, the presence of magnets in so much modern technology renders them liable to interference and even reversed polarity. We, too, must deal with modern magnetisms that often skew our spiritual sense of direction. We might feel frustrated, overwhelmed, tired, or perhaps need a fresh start, a change in direction, and something new to look forward to. We all need to “press the reset button” occasionally. Give yourself a chance to stop everything around you that feels out of control – to regain your focus and grounding in God.

Give yourself a chance to stop everything around you that feels out of control – to regain your focus and grounding in God. This collection of Daily Devotions is for “you.” Prayerfully use it alongside God’s precious Word, the Bible, in your spiritual journey as you seek to Reset your Spiritual Compass and Reboot your Soul.
